The ‘20 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry Symposium’ is being held at the Venice Convention Centre Palazzo del Casinó.
The symposium will focus on radar altimetry: the measurement of global sea surface, land and ice height by spaceborne sensors.
On Monday, 24 September, the live stream will begin at 09:00 CEST with the opening session.
Welcome speeches will be given by the mayor of Venice, Giorgio Orsoni, the Head of the ESA Earth Observation Science, Applications and Future Technologies Department, Maurice Borgeaud, and the head of Earth observation for the French space agency, CNES, Pascale Ultré-Guérard.
Keynote presentations will then highlight the challenges, results and future of altimetry.
The full agenda of the opening, as well as information on registration, can be found on the symposium website.
The symposium is organised by ESA in collaboration with CNES.
